Viewing Grant Proposal: Public Sector Consultants Capital Area Sustainability Partnership Community Solar Planning

The stated goal of the EIED grant program is to develop low carbon energy infrastructure, and the MI Healthy Climate Plan calls for Michigan to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, with a prioritization on actions that will provide the most rapid gains in GHG reductions. Additionally, many local governments here in Michigan have set even more ambitious goals that will help move our state to carbon neutrality in an equitable manner. But achieving these goals can be difficult for these local governments and other similar entities as they do not have the financial resources that are available to larger entities, such as large corporations that report profits in the hundreds of millions of dollars annually. Therefore, funds from this grant should go towards projects like this one. Through this project, multiple local governments will be able to take advantage of community solar resulting in deeper emission reductions in a more equitable manner than some of the other proposals - by applicants who oppose beneficial projects like this - that only offer marginal emission reductions at best.

I am in support of this project. Planning for community solar in Lansing, East Lansing, and Meridian Township aligns well with the stated goal of the EIED grant program to develop low-carbon infrastructure. Therefore, this project should be strongly considered for funding.

Community solar is the gold-standard for equitable solar access! I strongly support this proposal. And Public Sector Consultants is a trusted, mission-driven group with a proven track record.

In general, we support this application. The deployment of community solar, based on a solid planning process, will help increase resilience, address energy equity, and help decarbonize our electricity sector. As such, we support this project.

I am supportive of this proposal. Implementing more renewable energy systems is directly in line with the goal of the EIED grant program. Community solar offerings such as this also give those an opportunity to benefit from solar who may otherwise not have been able. It should be strongly considered for funding.
